President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to the leader of the Respect and Freedom Party (TISZA), Péter Magyar, on victory in the Hungarian parliamentary elections.
The President underlined that Lithuania and Hungary are bound by friendly relations based on mutual respect, further strengthened by their joint work in the European Union and NATO, as well as by cooperation in various multilateral formats, including the Bucharest Nine and the Three Seas Initiative.
"Lithuania highly values Hungary's contribution to ensuring the security of the Baltic region and remains committed to further strengthening bilateral partnership in defense and security, as well as to continuing joint efforts to safeguard the security of both nations and the entire region," the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda expressed his confidence that both countries will continue to enhance their economic, political and cultural dialogue, fostering even stronger ties between the two nations and their peoples.
"I firmly believe that our shared values and common goals will continue to provide a solid foundation for working together to strengthen democracy, security, and stability across Europe," the President's message states.
