Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Visits Israel

From January 6 to 8, 2026, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue visited Israel. During his visit, he met respectively with Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yosef Amrani, and Deputy National Security Advisor for Foreign Policy Joseph (Yossi) Draznin. They had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations.

Zhai Jun said that the Chinese and Jewish peoples enjoy a traditional friendship, and the sound and stable development of China-Israel relations serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples. China is ready to work with Israel to maintain bilateral exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation, and to carry on the friendship between the two peoples.

The Israeli side expressed its high regard for the development of Israel-China relations, consistently adheres to the one-China policy, and is willing to strengthen exchanges between various departments of the two countries at various levels, as well as to promote new progress in bilateral practical cooperation across various fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional hotspot issues.
