ATLANTA (Oct. 21, 2026) - CareSource, a nonprofit, mission-driven managed care organization, in partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, has launched the "My Money. My Future." financial education program. The initiative helps CareSource members strengthen financial stability and prepare for homeownership through free financial literacy courses and individual coaching.
"We know that financial wellness and health outcomes are closely linked," said David Donohue, president of CareSource Georgia. "CareSource's 'My Money. My Future.' partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity equips members with practical tools and personalized coaching to help build savings and take steps toward long-term goals, including home ownership, that open doors to greater opportunity and independence."
For many families, owning a home represents an opportunity to achieve financial independence and build a strong foundation for the future. Access to affordable housing is also closely linked to overall well-being. However, rising housing costs and affordability challenges place homeownership out of reach for many Georgians. "My Money. My Future." was designed to help overcome these barriers and support healthier communities.
The program provides free financial education, one-on-one coaching and ongoing support to ensure participants have the resources they need throughout their homeownership journey. Through courses covering budgeting, credit management and mortgage readiness, participants earn a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) homebuyer certificate while working with a financial coach to develop a personalized financial plan, set savings goals and improve their credit. Participants are also incentivized to build their savings account and may receive a savings match up to $500 from Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
"I regularly tell participants in our 'My Money, My Future.' workshops that you should always have a plan for your money, or it will have a plan for you," said Dr. Karyn Woods, financial coach manager with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. "By working together, our organizations are helping participants move from planning for homeownership to achieving it."
