Governor Newsom Signs Three New Bills, Bringing Total to Four for the Legislative Cycle

Sacramento, CA - Big wins for Assemblymember Juan Carrillo! Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed three more of his bills into law, bringing his total legislative victories this cycle to four. These new laws strengthen communities, enhance public safety, and support small businesses across California.

"California families and small businesses deserve leaders who deliver results," said Assemblymember Carrillo. "I'm proud to see these bills signed into law and to continue fighting for our communities in the 39th District."

AB 417 - Community Revitalization and Investment
This law improves the functionality of Community Revitalization and Investment Authorities (CRIAs) and Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts (EIFDs), making it easier for local communities to fund neighborhood improvements. Projects funded through these programs can enhance parks, infrastructure, and other community spaces.

AB 645 - Emergency Dispatcher Training
AB 645 requires all public safety dispatchers to complete Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) training. This ensures that when residents call 911, dispatchers have the skills to provide accurate guidance, supporting faster and more effective emergency response.

AB 521 - Contractors Licensing Board Protection
AB 521 shields the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) from liability for legal fees related to lawsuits involving licensed contractors' cash deposits. This protection allows the Board to continue its oversight and regulatory work without unnecessary legal exposure.
