NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (December 18, 2025) - The Crossroads Theatre Company, located at 7 Livingston Ave., New Jersey's first African American theater (founded 1978), will be recognized with a historical marker on Livingston Avenue.
The recognition is for its inclusion in the
New Jersey Black Heritage Trail, a route highlighting landmark sites significant to the struggle for freedom and equality. The City Council approved the marker on Dec. 3; an installation date will soon be set.
