The bridge closure starts Monday, August 17, 2026 with construction continuing through Summer 2027
PHILADELPHIA - The Streets Department of Transportation announces the upcoming full closure of the Pine Road Bridge over the Fox Chase Lorimer Trail starting Monday, August 17, 2026. Construction is anticipated to continue through Summer 2027.
Access to nearby homes and businesses will be maintained throughout construction. The Fox Chase Lorimer Trail will remain open with a few temporary closures during construction activities above the trail. Notice will be provided ahead of any closures. The first anticipated trail closure will be during demolition in late winter 2026.
The bridge will be closed to all modes of travel between Stanwood Street and Solly Avenue. Detour signage will direct people walking, biking, or driving.
For this project, planning and design was managed by the StreetsDOT Bridge Design Unit and completed by Gannett Fleming. Construction will be managed by the StreetsDOT Construction Unit and conducted by Road-Con, Inc.
