During a bill signing in the Oval Office today, Donald Trump was asked about the latest release of the Jeffrey Epstein files - which included several mentions of Trump and his cabinet members - and Trump said, "I think it's time for the country to get on to something else now that nothing came out about me."
When asked if he had read the newly released files, Trump said, "I have a lot of things I'm doing. I don't know," and then attacked the reporter for asking about the survivors of Epstein's crimes.
In response, DNC Deputy Rapid Response Director Jaelin O'Halloran released the following statement:
"Donald Trump and his White House have spent more than a year attempting to cover up the truth about Jeffrey Epstein's crimes and now - when Epstein's survivors are still waiting for justice and accountability - he's telling Americans to move on. It's no wonder why: Every time they release files, Trump and his wealthy friends appear in them. The utter disregard for the victims of Epstein and the demands of the American public is absolutely disgusting. Democrats will continue fighting to release the full files until we finally get transparency that Trump himself promised on the campaign trail."
Despite Trump claiming that nothing came out about him in the files, Department of Justice officials allegedly assembled a summary of "more than a dozen tips" received about Trump and Epstein, some of which included "accusations of sexual abuse by Mr. Epstein and Mr. Trump." Conveniently, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that federal investigators are unable to investigate the tips received about Trump's alleged involvement with Epstein.
