Mediacorp marks Singapore’s National Day with celebrations

Mediacorp has commemorated Singapore's 60th birthday with a dynamic line-up of events, programmes and initiatives that honour the nation's journey and identity. A key highlight was the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert, held on 3 August 2025 at The Meadow. Attendees were treated to a fun-filled, family-friendly evening complete with carnival games, dazzling fireworks, and performances by some of Singapore's most beloved artistes, including Kit Chan, Taufik Batisah, Hady Mirza and Yung Raja. For those who missed the event, the concert will be available to watch on 16 August 2025 on mewatch, Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube, and Channel 5.

The celebrations continue through Mediacorp's SG60 content slate, which highlights stories that honour Singapore's resilience, heritage and evolving identity. Among the standout programmes is "On The Red Dot: Museum of U & Me", a heartwarming English documentary series featuring Gurmit Singh and Oon Shu An as they explore the sentimental stories behind everyday items in Singaporean homes. Another is the "CNA docuseries Shaping Tomorrow", which showcases local brands shaping Singapore's future.

Sports fans can catch two world-class events broadcast on mewatch and Channel 5. The World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025 concluded on 3 August 2025, while the Toyota World Para Swimming Championships will take place from 21 to 27 September 2025 , featuring over 600 para swimmers from more than 60 countries, including Singapore's own world champion, Yip Pin Xiu.
