Most City Departments Closed on Monday, September 7

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7. Most City departments will be closed for the day. However, the following City services will continue to operate:
  • Animal Care & Control - Administrative offices will be closed. If you have an animal emergency, please call CRPD Dispatch at 319-286-5491.
  • City Manager's Office - Administrative offices will be closed.
  • Fire Department - Emergency response services will remain available.
  • Joint Communications Center - Emergency services will continue.
  • Library - Downtown location will be closed Sunday, September 6 through Monday, September 7. Ladd location is now closed.
  • Parks & Recreation - Administrative offices will be closed.

    • Bender Pool, Northwest Recreation Center, and Ushers Ferry facilities will be closed.
    • Golf - Gardner, Ellis, Twin Pines, and Mini Pines Miniature Golf courses will be open.
    • Noelridge Aquatics Center is open for its final post-season weekend; check times at CityofCR.com/Pools
    • Old MacDonald's Farm is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily, including Labor Day.

  • Police Department - Administrative offices will be closed. Emergency response services will be available. Non-emergency calls can be made to 319-286-5491.
  • Solid Waste & Recycling - No collection. Garbage, yard waste, and recycling will be collected one day late. If your collection day is Friday, it will be picked up on Saturday.
  • Transit - No service on Monday, September 7.
  • Utilities - All utilities will remain in service.
