Voxxed Days Ticino is a one-of-a-kind technology event dedicated to the developer community. Born as a spin-off of Devoxx and now present worldwide, Voxxed Days are educational events organized by ICT professionals to bring together under one roof internationally and locally renowned speakers, leading companies, and software engineers eager to expand their knowledge, refine their skills, exchange ideas, and find inspiration.
The event is co-organized by the Institute for Information Systems and Networking of SUPSI, the Faculty of Informatics of USI, and Exteso. Once again this year, it will be held at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano on Friday, February 6, 2026, featuring a rich program of talks by national and international speakers. The event will welcome hundreds of developers, companies, and partners from Ticino, Switzerland, and Northern Italy.
As is tradition, Voxxed Days Ticino covers a broad range of software development topics, from methodologies and architectures to the practical use of technologies. This year's main focus will be AI Agents, which are already transforming-and will continue to transform-the way development teams work. Alongside the rapid evolution of AI, the need to strengthen the security of systems and applications is also growing. To address these emerging trends, the event will expand from four to five parallel tracks and will feature two panel discussions: "Spec-Driven Development with AI" and "Practical Security Strategies."

Among the many distinguished speakers taking part in the event (https://vdt26.voxxeddays.ch/speakers/), special mention goes to keynote speaker Kevlin Henney, independent consultant and trainer, who will explore the past, present, and future of programming languages, also considering the impact of Large Language Models. Equally compelling will be the closing talk by Mario Fusco, which will highlight the biases and attitudes-individual or collective-that influence the quality of the software we produce.
The conference will be preceded by four professional workshops held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the USI-SUPSI East Campus in Lugano. These workshops offer a unique opportunity to fully immerse in the Voxxed world - learning, building, and sharing knowledge with industry experts. Seats for the workshops are limited.
"Voxxed Days Ticino has established itself as a unique technology event aimed at a highly skilled and knowledgeable developer audience," comments Federico Yankelevich, organizer of Voxxed Days since its inception. "The Ticino edition is the first on the annual Voxxed calendar, together with the CERN edition in Geneva, organized back-to-back. We are delighted to have the support of USI and SUPSI as co-organizers. One of Voxxed Days' key success factors lies in the quality of its topics and the excellence of its speakers throughout the day."
With the 2026 edition, Tiziano Leidi, Program Committee Chair of Voxxed Days Ticino and Director of the Institute of Information Systems and Networking (ISIN) at SUPSI, looks toward the new frontiers of software engineering: "If 2025 was the year celebrating thirty years of Java, 2026 marks the definitive entry into a new paradigm. We are no longer talking only about development assisted by Large Language Models, but about a true revolution driven by software agents. We want Voxxed Days Ticino to be the place where developers learn how to govern these new entities, transforming the way we conceive and build digital systems."
Leidi also emphasized how this year's program places a strong focus on cutting-edge techniques such as Spec-Driven Development: "Technological evolution moves fast. Today we can take advantage of intelligent solutions capable of acting autonomously on precise specifications. Introducing topics like specification-driven development through agents means equipping professionals in our region with concrete tools to manage the complexity of modern systems, reducing implementation time and increasing the formal quality of software."
A bridge between research and the local market: for ISIN, co-organizing the event is not just an academic commitment, but a strategic choice for technology transfer. "Voxxed Days Ticino represents a fundamental opportunity for SUPSI to strengthen its role as a key partner for companies in Ticino," concludes Leidi. "We collaborate daily with the business community on innovative projects. Bringing leading experts in new software development methodologies to Lugano helps foster an ecosystem where research translates into competitive value for local industry."
"This is a significant event for the developer community, and we are excited to contribute," says Ernst Wit, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at USI. "At the Faculty of Informatics, we have a dual mission: to educate highly qualified future professionals and to invest in cutting-edge research, with the goal of promoting technology transfer for the benefit of local companies in key areas of computer science such as software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. We also actively collaborate with local companies, giving them access to world-class research results capable of pushing the boundaries of technological innovation. In this context, initiatives like Voxxed Days Ticino play a crucial role in creating synergies between innovative companies, software engineers, and academic groups. Together with our colleagues from SUPSI and Exteso, we are pleased to support this outstanding platform for idea exchange and shared innovation."
