Nation’s Mayors Celebrate Congressional Action to Pass the Bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, landmark legislation addressing America's housing affordability crisis, became law. In response, USCM President Todd Gloria, Mayor of San Diego, released the following statement:

"For too many American families, the dream of an affordable home has drifted further out of reach with each passing year. Today, we begin to change the story. We thank Congress-Republican, Democratic and Independent members of both the House and Senate-for refusing to let housing become another partisan political fight by passing this historic legislation. This landmark law gives communities and mayors the tools we need to build more homes, increase supply, and deliver more affordable, accessible housing in the communities our residents call home. America's mayors fought for this legislation from day one because we know the solution is simple: build more homes to lower costs. Now it's time to deliver."
