Postcard from Embedded World: Meet Intel Core Series 2 processor with P-cores

Here at Embedded World - it's the premier trade fair and conference for embedded systems held annually in Nuremberg, Germany - Intel launched the Intel® Core™ Series 2 processor with P-cores (Bartlett Lake).

It's an industrial-ready platform designed for mission-critical applications at the edge, like those found in healthcare industries.

The tiny chip - held here by Dan Rodriguez, Intel corporate vice president and general manager of the Edge Computing Group - is now available.

Rodriguez shared how Intel Core Series 2 processors with P-cores are designed to juggle multiple edge-based workloads at the same time, while maintaining precise timing and deterministic performance.

This sets Series 2 CPUs apart from the competition which often force manufacturers to balance between processor power levels and reliability, leading to increased costs and unnecessary complexity.

"With the introduction of Core Series 2 processors with P-cores, our CES launch of Core Ultra Series 3, and our expanding Edge AI Suites, we continue to deliver comprehensive platforms that meet diverse edge customer needs with breakthrough performance, reliability, and integrated AI acceleration," said Rodriguez.
