I have dedicated my research to understanding human development through cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT), inspired by researchers such as Lev S. Vygotsky, Aleksei N. Leontiev and Vasil V. Davydov. This theoretical framework understands human development not as a linear accumulation of knowledge, but as a social, historical and cultural process that unfolds through human interaction across the lifespan. This understanding aligns closely with the principles that guide the work of UIL and its concept of learning cities, which mobilize resources across sectors to promote inclusive and continuous learning opportunities for all.
