Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) released the following statement after Democrats in the Senate voted to block the nonpartisan continuing resolution for government appropriations in a 55-45 vote on Wednesday afternoon.
"House Republicans acted responsibly and passed a clean, nonpartisan funding bill 12 days ago," said Rep Walberg. "However, after voting to shut down the government last night, Senate Democrats have decided to continue to keep the government closed through a vote this afternoon. It's time for common sense to prevail and for Senate Democrats to reopen the government and bring their shutdown to an end."
