Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister Celebrates World Humanitarian Day by Giving

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- In recognition of World Humanitarian Day, Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister presented food vouchers and bottled water to the Great Commission Ministries and the Persis Rodgers Home for the Aged at her Office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Mrs. Davis said, "World Humanitarian Day is about people who show up when it is hardest. The nurse who stays late. The volunteer who shares water and other necessities, the neighbour who checks in. The stranger who becomes family."

She also noted that humanitarianism is not about grand gestures. "It is about choosing dignity, again and again. It is about saying: your life matters, your story matters and you are not alone."

Mrs. Davis said, "Thank you to every humanitarian here and everywhere. You are the reason hope still has a name."

Administrator of the Persis Rodgers Home for the Aged, Lavern Stewart and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Great Commission Ministries, Rev. Emily Demeritte received the donations on behalf of their organizations.
