David V. Hamilton selected as Washington County’s Elections Division Manager

Washington County has selected David V. Hamilton as the County's new Elections Division Manager. He succeeds Dan Forester, who has accepted a new position as Tax Division Manager after four years with the Elections Division.

The County conducted a thorough recruitment process to fill this leadership role. Several qualified candidates were considered. Hamilton's background in election administration and his strong focus on voter access and education distinguished him during the selection process.

Hamilton began his elections career in Washington state, gaining early experience in King County and in the state legislature. He later led nonpartisan elections programs for the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

In these roles, Hamilton has managed large teams and guided voter education and outreach efforts. His career reflects a sustained commitment to secure, accurate and transparent elections.

His experience in election administration and commitment to transparency make him an exceptional fit for this role," said Assistant County Administrator Marni Kuyl. "He steps into a position previously held by a highly respected colleague, and while those are big shoes to fill, we are confident he will carry that legacy forward."

Hamilton said he is honored to step into the role and continue serving the Washington County community.

"I'm honored to join this team and excited to get started. Ensuring elections are accurate and accessible has guided my career, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place here," Hamilton said.

Hamilton's first day was June 27, 2026. Forester transitioned to his new role on February 28, 2026 and has been covering both service areas until this recent hire.
