The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the United Kingdom's decision to ban goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
This step marks an important move toward translating international law and international legitimacy into concrete action against the settlement enterprise.
The Ministry urges all countries to follow suit by banning settlement goods, ending trade and investment linked to settlements, and holding settlers and entities involved in terrorism against Palestinians accountable.
Protecting the two-state solution requires more than political statements. It requires decisive measures to isolate the settlement enterprise, end impunity, and uphold the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and an independent, sovereign state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
