On January 30, the Embassy od the Republic of Armenia to the People's Republic of China organized an official reception dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
The event was attended by military attachés and other military representatives from a number of countries accredited in Beijing, as well as Armenian citizens living and studying in China.
PLA General Liu Zhongbin, head of the International Institute of Defense Studies, National Defense University, attended the event as a Guest of Honor from the Chinese side.
Delivering an opening remarks the Armenia's military attaché to China Georgi Nalbandyan presented the significance of the day, emphasizing the role of the Armenian Armed Forces in the establishment and strengthening of Armenian statehood.
He also referred to the commemoration of the 27th of January as the Day of Remembrance and Tribute to those who fell for the sake of the homeland.
In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to China Vahe Gevorgyan noted, that Armenia has made significant efforts towards the regional peace and security, including normalization of relations with neighboring countries and the diversification of ties with major International actors.
In this context, the Ambassador pointed out the upgrading of relations with China to the level of strategic partnership, highliting the importance of deepening cooperation with China in all spheres.
