Councilmember Heather Jefts has resigned from Council Place Six, and the City Council declared the position vacant, at a Special Called Meeting held on October 30, 2025.
Pursuant to the Cedar Park City Charter and the Council Rules Of Procedure, this vacancy will be filled by a Council appointment for the remainder of the current unexpired term. The appointee will serve through the May 2, 2026, General Election. The appointed Councilmember is not eligible to be a candidate for the May 2, 2026, General Election.
All interested applicants must submit to the City Secretary all of the following required documents: completed and notarized Application, Letter of Interest, Resume, written responses to Applicant Questionnaire, Authorization For Background Investigation, and the $50 candidate filing fee or petition.
Applications, including all required documents, must be submitted in person with the candidate filing fee or petition. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, money order, or cashier's check.
Applications will only be accepted from November 3, 2025, to November 17, 2025. APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 5:00 P.M. On Monday, November 17, 2025.

All required documents and the filing fee/petition must be received in-hand by the deadline.
All applicants will be interviewed by the City Council at a City Council Meeting to be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025. All applicants must be in attendance and available for an interview by the City Council in order to be considered.
The appointed candidate will be sworn in and expected to begin service immediately.
The appointed candidate will be expected to attend all regular and special-called City Council Meetings as posted on the 2025 and 2026 City Meeting Calendar.
