Mayor-President Edwards Announces Official Halloween Trick-or-Treat Hours

BATON ROUGE, LA - Wednesday, October 22, 2025 - Mayor-President Sid Edwards has announced that official trick-or-treat hours for the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish will be held Friday, October 31, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Neighborhoods, churches, and community organizations are welcome to host their own seasonal celebrations at alternate times or dates as they see fit. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the holiday responsibly and to keep safety top of mind while celebrating across the parish.

Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips

  1. Plan Ahead: Map out your route before heading out. Stick to familiar, well-lit areas, and let someone know your plans and expected return time.
  2. Be Seen: Choose bright or reflective costumes and carry flashlights or glow sticks to help drivers spot you after dark.
  3. Check Treats: Inspect all candy and snacks before eating. Discard anything that's unwrapped or looks suspicious, and be mindful of potential allergens.
  4. Stay on Sidewalks: Walk, don't run, and use crosswalks when available. Avoid cutting across yards or streets in the dark.
  5. Buddy Up: Trick-or-treating is safer (and more fun) in groups. Children should always be accompanied by a trusted adult.

Mayor Edwards wishes all residents a safe and enjoyable Halloween filled with fun, community spirit, and plenty of sweet treats.
