Emrick Announces Nearly $1.5 Million in Grants for 137th District Projects

January 20, 2026

HARRISBURG - Rep. Joe Emrick (R-137) today announced $1.45 million in grants has been awarded for two 137th District projects through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program and the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

Lower Nazareth Township received a $1.25 million Multimodal Transportation Fund grant to improve a portion of Township Line Road located in Lower Nazareth Township and East Allen Township.

The Bethlehem Township Municipal Authority will use its $200,000 PA Small Water and Sewer Program grant to rehabilitate 12 pipes within their storm sewer system in Bethlehem Township.

The PA Small Water and Sewer Program authorizes the Commonwealth Financing Authority to award grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for water, sewer, storm water and flood control projects with a cost of not less than $30,000 and not more than $500,000. The funding can be used to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system or flood control projects.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania's economic stimulus packages.
