Traffic Advisory Calaveras County 08/21/26

One-Way Traffic Control and Full Highway Closure Next Week

Calaveras County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 4 (SR-4), SR-26, & SR-49 in Calaveras County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 4

  • One-way traffic control from Lower Utica Powerhouse Road to Upper Moran Road for tree work beginning Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

State Route 26

  • Long-term full highway closure at the West Side of SR-26/49 Intersection from Main Street to SR-49 for highway construction work beginning Monday, August 24, at 7:00 a.m. through Monday, November 9, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.

State Route 49

  • Overnight one-way traffic control from Main Street (San Andreas) to Airport Road for crack & seal operations beginning Sunday, August 23, through Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
