New Investments Approved by DDDA Focus on Office Tenancy, Activation

Published on July 22, 2026

Denver - The Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDDA or DDA) today announced two new downtown investments focused on downtown tenancy and ground floor activation.

Downtown Office Space for Alterra Mountain Company

Alterra Mountain Company, owner of 19 North American ski destinations and the Ikon Pass, is actively exploring several long-term office locations for its headquarters, including a selection of Upper Downtown office buildings. One of the projects authorized by the DDDA today is to make up to $7,000,000 in loan funding available to Alterra Mountain Company if it selects a long-term office location in Upper Downtown, within the DDDA boundaries. The approval today reflects the DDDA's commitment to retaining major employers, increasing foot traffic, and filling underutilized office space downtown.

Ground Floor Activation and Tenant Improvement Support for Paired Hospitality

Paired Hospitality, the restaurant group behind Michelin-starred Beckon and Major Tom, will be opening a full-service restaurant and bar at 1530 16th St. The DDDA today approved a $240,000 low-interest loan to support Paired Hospitality in building out the 2,850-square-foot space to include an open kitchen with counter seating, a dining room, a bar, and other tenant improvements. Once completed, the venue is expected to be open seven days a week from 3:00 PM to close, bringing additional foot traffic and activating the 16th St corridor.

"Over the last two years, the DDDA board has worked diligently to develop a program that inspires catalytic investments that help revitalize our downtown. I'm extremely proud of the continued and growing interest in the program, and the impact we're beginning to see from these investments coming to fruition," said Doug Tisdale, Chair of the Denver Downtown Development Authority. "I am excited to see the evolution of the program and its continued role in shaping the future of our city center."

Petition for Inclusion for 101 W Colfax Avenue

The DDDA also approved a petition to add city-owned 101 W Colfax Avenue into the DDDA boundaries. This was a proactive move by the Board to raise the visibility of this upper downtown office space and make the property more attractive to prospective tenants. The inclusion of this property follows several previously included city-owned properties and aligns with the DDDA's goal to focus on reinvestment, office space activation and foot traffic generation, particularly in upper downtown.

Projects approved by the DDDA Board today will now proceed to Denver City Council for final review and approval.

With today's new investments, the DDDA has now approved over $298,657,144 in support for new retail and entertainment destinations downtown, new parks and public spaces, new housing at a range of price points, job creation, and acquisitions for future redevelopment opportunities.
