World Cup Watch Party in the Plaza

CityLine will transform into the ultimate neighborhood watch party for Mexico vs. Czechia. There will be a giant LED screen, patio vibes, match-night energy and a summer evening build for gathering loud.

The Richardson Fire Department is marking its 100th anniversary with a family-friendly open house, giving you the chance to honor generations of firefighters who have served Richardson over the past century. This is the story of what happened in the hotel room next to the hotel room where Ann was whisked out of bed and into the Manhattan night by King Kong. There's always a backstory. Myron Siegel is a low-end Broadway producer who desperately wants to be high end. Trouble is, he has, for his entire career, been sabotaged by his archrival, who is ultra-famous for making movies about scary jungle creatures.

Aquatic Plants of the Wetland

Bring the family out to the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center to learn about the aquatic plants of the wetland, why they are important and how they help our water. The event will include wetland themed educational activities and crafts. This is a come-and-go event.

Library Card Design Contest

Richardson residents of all ages have an opportunity to showcase their creativity and help design a future library card. There are two art contests-one for adults ages 19 and older and another for children and teens ages 3-18. The winning artwork will appear on new library cards in fall 2026.

Entering the contest is simple. Participants can download an entry form online or pick one up at any Library service desk. Artists are encouraged to create a bright and colorful design using colored pencils, crayons, markers or paint.

Adaptive Summer Luau

Come out for this genuine luau feast at Heights Family Aquatic Center. There will be swimming, sliding, lounging and an authentic steel drum player.

Family 4th Celebration

The City of Richardson annual Family 4th Celebration is held at Breckinridge Park. This traditional, patriotic salute is free and open to the entire community. Attendees can bring picnics, blankets and/or lawn chairs and enjoy children's activities, concessions, a patriotic musical salute and fireworks.

Parking is limited, therefore a free round-trip shuttle service will be offered from the designated off-site parking locations at 3001 & 3101 President George Bush Turnpike in Richardson. Shuttles will begin at 6 p.m. and the last bus will depart from the off-site parking to the park at 8:45 p.m.

UV Safety Awareness

This presentation will focus on UV safety and the importance of protecting your skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Attendees will learn about the risk of excessive sun exposure, including skin damage and skin cancer, as well as practical ways to stay protected. This program will be presented by Methodist Richardson Medical Center.

UT Dallas Hosts Summer Chess Camps for Kids and Teens - Registration Open

Children and teens ages 8-17 can learn chess or perfect existing skills. Classes are small with a low student-to-teacher ratio and students grouped by ability, age, experience and instructor assessment.
