Transfer of Military Materiel granted by Greece to Lebanon

The transfer of military materiel to Beirut, granted by the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Lebanon, was successfully completed on Thursday, 15 January 2026. The transfer was carried out as a result of the collaboration of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the competent state authorities, in the framework of our country's defence diplomacy actions.

Specifically, a Hellenic Navy LST carried 13 M-113 Armour Personnel Carriers, 10 STEYR 680M 2 ½ tonne General Utility vehicles, as well as materiel - spare parts for their maintenance to Beirut port, where they were made available to the Lebanese authorities.

It is worth reminding, that the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias,made visits to Lebanon, while, in Athens, he had meetings with the Minister of National Defence of Lebanon, Michel Menassa, during which, they discussed the matter of the aid of Greece to the Armed Forces of Lebanon, by providing military materiel.
