The College of Fine Arts' annual ArtsSplash event is returning to campus Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event will be held on the east side of the Cornell Mall, next to the Student Union Building.
This highly anticipated annual event highlights the College of Fine Arts programs and student work, and continues to partner with the Arts Career Fair, which also connects students with potential art employers and introduces art employers to the talents within the UNM art community.
"ArtsSplash is a signature event for the college that showcases the incredible talent and skill of our students while highlighting the breadth of the College's programs," said Harris Smith, dean of the College of Fine Arts. "Each year, this event grows, creating new opportunities for cross-collaboration that strengthen the CFA's ties to the greater Lobo community."
The career fair will take place in the lobby of the Center for the Arts building. Employers will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring their resumes.
"The career fair brings art organizations from across the state to the UNM campus and offers students opportunities to network for internships, jobs, and to learn more about the arts industry in the state," said Katie Dukes-Walker, the director of the Art Leadership & Business program. "Students can also get help refining their resumes and CVs from the faculty during the career fair."
"The combination of the Arts Career Fair and the performances at ArtsSplash creates a festive day of community building for everyone to enjoy the arts," said Dukes-Walker.
Dean Smith will kick off the lunch hour celebration with welcoming remarks, followed by performances by the Departments of Theatre & Dance and Music. Food trucks will be available throughout the event.
Attendees will receive a free ArtsSplash 2025 T-shirt after collecting stamps from each department's booth in their ArtsSplash Passport. Each table will offer information about the departments and programs, including ARTS Lab, Tamarind Institute, Theatre & Dance, Art & Art History, Music, and Film and Digital Arts, among others. Participants will also be able to hear the latest update on the new Fine Arts building, the Center for Collaborative Arts and Technology.
