The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 14th Broadcasting for All (BFA) Forum stands as a high-level conference dedicated to showcasing career development, best practices, and innovation in diversity and inclusion in media representation and content.
Under the theme "Inclusive Media in Action: Representation, Accessibility, and Equity in Broadcasting," this year's edition explores how media organisations can move beyond dialogue to meaningful practice. The forum highlights the responsibility of broadcasters to ensure that diverse voices are represented authentically, that content and platforms remain accessible to all communities, and that equity becomes a guiding principle in media production, distribution, and policy.
The forum gives special attention to the advancement of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) as a driver of inclusive cultural engagement. By equipping audiences-particularly youth and marginalised groups-with the skills to critically engage with media, MIL fosters empowered communities, enriches cultural exchange, and guarantees that no perspective is overlooked or silenced in the media space.
This panel discussion features expert presentations focusing on innovations and policy frameworks that ensure inclusive access to content for all audiences, including vulnerable and marginalised groups.
This dynamic showcase spotlights transformative initiatives that promote cultural and national heritage storytelling, with a special focus on contributions from indigenous communities and young content creators. Case studies presented by ABU member broadcasters and digital content innovators will demonstrate how diverse voices can be amplified and celebrated.
A timely discussion on the role of Media and Information Literacy in fostering cultural understanding, combating disinformation, and empowering youth to preserve heritage through ethical, informed media practices.
The Broadcasting for All Forum maintains its position as an essential platform for meaningful dialogue, comprehensive knowledge exchange, and strategic collaboration. Through these initiatives, the forum continues building a media environment that authentically reflects the rich diversity of the Asia-Pacific region.
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union delegates are cordially invited to participate in the BFA Forum on 12 September 2025 at Tuushin Hotel. For the full agenda, please visit: ABU BFA 2025.
