Erica Bergfeld-Reed named 2025 Go Beyond recipient by UFG Insurance

UFG Insurance has announced Erica Bergfeld-Reed as the recipient of the 2025 Scotty McIntyre, Jr. Go Beyond award, recognizing UFG employees for their exemplary community service efforts. Erica, AVP, corporate finance strategy and program manager, has demonstrated a profound commitment to supporting communities and enhancing lives through various leadership roles and volunteer efforts. She is currently serving as vice chair for the Cedar Valley Humane Society (CVHS) board of directors, vice chair of the United Way of East Central Iowa's Women United committee and co-chair for UFG's United Way fundraising campaign. She served as sustainer co-chair for the Junior League of Cedar Rapids; advisory board president, executive program chair and board member for Leadership for Five Seasons (LFS); as well as a board member for YPN and the Variety Club of East Central Iowa. Through her volunteerism and leadership roles in these organizations, Erica is truly making a difference in Cedar Rapids. Through CVHS, she advocates for animal welfare, ensuring vulnerable animals receive the care and support they deserve. In 2024, her exceptional leadership on the UFG United Way campaign led to one of the strongest campaigns in UFG's recent history, in both employee contributions and the total amount donated. She has also guided programs that develop future leaders - programs that are still strong and influential in the Eastern Iowa Corridor - through her work with LFS. "Erica's dedication to driving community projects without seeking recognition mirrors Scotty's principle of giving to make the world a better place," says Robert Rathje, who nominated Erica for this award. "Her efforts foster community development and support local needs, reflecting a genuine care for people." The Go Beyond award recognizes its recipient and honors the legacy of Scotty McIntyre, Jr., former CEO, chairman and son of UFG founder Scott McIntyre. Scotty cultivated a culture dedicated to giving back and community support. 2025 Go Beyond employee award winner Erica Bergfeld-Reed.
