Mayor Indya Kincannon, City Council members and a wide range of community leaders will cut a ribbon at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, and officially open the new Sue Clancy Greenway Extension in Fountain City.
The celebration is a culmination of collaboration, community selflessness and skilled construction to create a mile-long "missing link" greenway that connects Adair Park and residents living north of I-640 / Broadway with neighborhoods and destinations south of Sharp's Ridge.
Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home and Lynnhurst Cemetery, the Park at Fountain City apartments, and KUB provided access to their property to make the new greenway possible. Legacy Parks Foundation negotiated the easements. And City Public Service crews built and will maintain the gravel and crushed stone trail.
