Part of a Record Seven Halftime Shows Presented by American Express Across the NFL's Biggest International Season to Date

MEXICO CITY - August 31, 2026 - The National Football League announced today that Mexican rock trio The Warning will headline the halftime show, presented by American Express, during the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 7:20 p.m. Mexico City time (8:20 p.m. ET) from Estadio Banorte.

The Mexico City performance will be part of a record seven halftime shows presented by American Express and staged across the 2026 NFL International Games - a lineup of live musical performances spanning seven countries and four continents - as the league plays its most international games ever in a single season.

Formed in Monterrey, Mexico, sisters Daniela "Dany," Paulina "Pau" and Alejandra "Ale" Villarreal have emerged as one of modern rock's most exciting forces. The Warning has built a global following through their explosive live performances, acclaimed releases and relentless touring, with career streams surpassing 785 million and a Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Rock Song in 2024. Their fifth album Everything's Falling arrived August 28, featuring the chart-topping single "Kerosene" which made history by reaching #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart - making The Warning the first Mexican band and first all-women band ever to claim the top spot.

"We are beyond thrilled to be part of this NFL event in our home country and at such an iconic stadium," said The Warning. "We love the NFL, and every time we work together, we cannot wait to do it again. Playing the halftime show during an international Sunday night game is an incredible privilege, and we cannot wait to show fans what Mexico and its people have to offer. It will be a night to remember - we'll do what we do best and amp up the excitement of the game. You have been warned!"

"Mexico City has a deep passion for both football and music, and The Warning brings the energy, authenticity and local connection we look for when creating these performances," said Tim Tubito, senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment at the NFL. "As one of Mexico's most exciting rock acts, they are the perfect choice to take the stage at Estadio Banorte and deliver a halftime show that feels made for this city and gives fans an unforgettable moment on game day."

The Warning's full halftime performance will be broadcast live in Mexico on TelevisaUnivision's Canal 5 and ESPN.

Limited-edition merchandise celebrating The Warning's performance at the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game will be available at NFL Shops on Gameday and League events during the week.

ABOUT THE WARNING
The Warning grew up writing songs, playing shows, and sharpening their craft together in Monterrey, Mexico. That lifelong bond between sisters Daniela "Dany" Villarreal (guitar, lead vocals, piano), Paulina "Pau" Villarreal (drums, vocals, piano), and Alejandra "Ale" Villarreal (bass, piano, backing vocals) fuels their uncompromising vision and drives the chemistry that powers the band. After building a global audience with early independent releases, The Warning broke through with ERROR [2022] and Keep Me Fed [2024]. The latter pushed their career streams past 785 million and earned a Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Rock Song for "Qué Más Quieres," alongside nominations at the MTV VMAs and MTV EMAs. Relentless touring has taken them around the world, headlining packed venues and sharing stages with artists including Yungblud, Halsey, Evanescence, Muse, and Foo Fighters. In 2025, they capped off the cycle with sold-out shows for 30,000 fans in Mexico City, captured on the live album and concert film Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX, which screened in AMC and Cinépolis theaters. In 2026, The Warning launched their next era with the singles "Kerosene," "Ego," and "Ritual," setting the stage for Everything's Falling, their most ambitious and personal work yet.

ABOUT NFL MEXICO
International growth is a strategic priority for the National Football League and its 32 clubs. With more than 110 years of American football history in the country, Mexico is one of the NFL's most important markets outside the United States, and the league established its local office there in 1998.

Through the NFL's Global Markets Program, 10 teams now hold marketing rights in Mexico: ARI, DAL, DEN, HOU, KC, LV, LAR, MIA, PIT and SF. These rights support a range of media and brand partnerships that continue to strengthen the league's presence and grow its fan base across the country.

The return of regular season NFL games to Mexico builds on the league's history at Estadio Banorte, which has hosted five previous NFL regular season games in 2005, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
