Astera Labs (ALAB) stock returned 73.8% in the twelve months to October 27, 2026, against 15.0% for the S&P 500. During that year, management came to expect its Scorpio switches for AI systems to become the company's largest product line. If you did not own the stock, you will want to know whether any of that was visible in advance. What was Astera Labs saying about Scorpio before October 2025?
What Astera Labs Said About Scorpio In February 2025
On its February 10, 2025 call, covering the quarter ended December 2024, management said Scorpio was shipping in pre-production volumes alongside another new product called Leo. The company also announced a sixth straight quarter of record revenue. That quarter generated revenue of $141 million, up 179.3% from a year earlier.
The Scorpio name was on the record early, and a reader could have acted on it. Yet the product remained in pre-production, and the company reported operating income that was only about break-even for the quarter.
By August 2025, Astera Labs Said Scorpio Was Ramping
Six months later, the product was advancing. On the August 5, 2025 call, management said its Scorpio P-Series switches were "ramping into volume production." The reported quarter, ended June 2025, generated revenue of $192 million, up 149.7% from a year earlier.
This growth was also translating into profit. Operating margin climbed in every quarter from the one ended June 2024, when the operating loss equalled 31.7% of revenue, to the one ended June 2025, when operating profit reached 20.7% of revenue. By August 2025, both the product ramp and the profit were public.
The shares were also rising. Astera Labs stock went from $103.29 on February 10, 2025 to $135.54 on August 5, 2025, and rose 149.5% in the six months to October 24, 2025, before the twelve-month gain began.
What Changed At Astera Labs During The Run
The business continued to grow, although more slowly than the year before. Revenue over the four quarters to June 2026 reached $1,202 million, roughly double the $606 million generated during the four quarters a year earlier. The sales mix shifted as well. Management said sales of PCIe 6.0 products, from its Scorpio switches and Aries retimers, accounted for more than half of total revenue in the quarter ended June 2026. This was up from a third in the prior quarter.
The rally in the shares did not make them more expensive relative to sales. The stock traded at 53.5 times trailing sales at the end of September 2025, shortly before the twelve-month gain began, and 41.1 times at the October 27, 2026 close, so revenue grew faster than the company's market value.
Is Astera Labs' Scorpio Growth Still Building?
Management expects it to. On the August 4, 2026 call, the company said Scorpio should become its largest product family in the quarter ended September 2026, one quarter earlier than it had expected. It guided revenue for that quarter to a range of $540 million to $560 million, compared with the $392 million reported for the quarter ended June. The Scorpio milestone and the revenue range are forecasts, not results.
So far, the company's results have kept pace. Revenue in the quarter ended June 2026 was up 104.5% from a year earlier. The shares have pulled back lately, falling 18.4% in the month to October 27, 2026, while the S&P 500 rose 0.6%. Scorpio's rank among Astera Labs' product lines, and revenue against that guide, are the figures to watch when the company reports in November 2026.
