NORTH PORT, FL - The City of North Port is expanding its popular North Port University citizens' academy program with NPU Online, a new series of educational webinars.
These virtual learning sessions will give residents the opportunity to hear directly from City staff and subject matter experts about the issues they care about most. From traffic and infrastructure updates to storm preparedness and growth management, the sessions will provide clear explanations of complex issues and will include interactive Q&A segments with staff and leadership.
The first webinar topic is City Government & City Budgeting, offering an inside look at how the City of North Port works. It takes place at noon Friday, Jan. 30. Attendees must register online at NorthPortFL.gov/Events.
Each webinar will be recorded and archived, creating a permanent on-demand library of resources that residents can access anytime.
"NPU graduates find our classes to be informative and valuable, but we understand that not everyone can commit to attending an eight-week course in person," said Community Engagement Coordinator Jane Akins. "NPU Online gives all residents a chance to participate and learn more about the topics they've told us are most important to them."
Future webinar topics and details will be announced throughout the year. Sign up to receive City news and announcements at NorthPortFL.gov/Subscribe.
