Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Zhao Xiyuan Meets with Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O’Leary

On March 10, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan met with Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O'Leary. The two sides exchanged views on China-Ireland relations and local governments cooperation.

Ambassador Zhao briefed Cllr O'Leary on China's 15th Five-Year Plan and noted that Taoiseach Micheál Martin's successful visit to China earlier this year led to important consensus between the two countries' leaders, charting the direction for practical bilateral cooperation. The Chinese Embassy is willing to facilitate Fingal County's efforts to deepen local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O'Leary said that Fingal County attaches great importance to cooperation with China and looks forward to strengthening exchanges in areas such as infrastructure, energy, and culture. He welcomed more Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in the county and expressed the county government's willingness to continue contributing to the sound and stable development of Ireland-China relations.
