The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change has published its 2025/26 Activity Report, highlighting continued progress in turning climate adaptation ambitions into concrete action across Europe.
The report demonstrates strong and growing engagement throughout the Mission ecosystem, with more than 400 regional and local authorities now participating in Mission activities and initiatives. This momentum is further supported by a portfolio of 65 Horizon Europe projects and an active Mission Adaptation Community bringing together over 700 participants to collaborate, exchange knowledge and promote peer learning across governance levels.
These achievements confirm the Mission's role as a key delivery mechanism for climate adaptation in Europe, helping to translate policy ambition into practical implementation while strengthening resilience across territories.
The report also underlines the importance of collective action in addressing increasing climate risks. By connecting regions, cities, researchers, citizens and EU institutions, the Mission continues to foster a shared framework for adaptation and preparedness across Europe.
Looking ahead, the experience and lessons generated through the Mission will contribute to the forthcoming Integrated Framework on Climate Resilience. This framework is expected to enhance coherence across adaptation policies and support more systemic, risk-informed and anticipatory approaches to resilience-building throughout the European Union.
