City of Norman Deputy City Clerk Jamie Meyer Earns Certified Municipal Clerk Designation

Norman, OK - The City of Norman is proud to announce that Deputy City Clerk Jamie Meyer has earned the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).

The Certified Municipal Clerk program is a nationally recognized professional certification that prepares municipal clerks to meet the increasingly complex responsibilities of local government administration. The program emphasizes high standards of education and professional development through partnerships with institutions of higher learning.

"I am tremendously pleased to have achieved the Certified Municipal Clerk designation," said Meyer. "The Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officials Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks organizations offer educational forums designed specifically for city clerks, and I am thankful to City Clerk Brenda Hall, CMC, and the City of Norman for providing me the opportunity to be part of a vast group of clerks dedicated to our profession."

City Manager Darrel Pyle praised Meyer's accomplishment, stating, "Jamie's commitment to professional excellence reflects the high standards we value in the City of Norman. Her dedication to continued learning and service strengthens the City Clerk's Office and enhances the quality of service we provide to our residents."

City Clerk Brenda Hall, CMC, added, "Jamie's achievement is a testament to her professionalism, work ethic, and dedication to the municipal clerk profession. The Certified Municipal Clerk designation represents a significant commitment to continued education, and I am proud of Jamie for reaching this important milestone so early in her career."

Meyer began working toward her certification in October 2023, completing the required education, experience, and professional contributions required to earn the CMC designation, which is normally a 3 ½ year program. In 2024, Meyer earned her High Performance Leadership Master Certificate from the Professional Development Academy and she also became a Certified Parliamentarian through the National Association of Parliamentarians in August of 2025.
