DENVER - The East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project team, in collaboration with the Colfax Mayfair Business Improvement District (CMBID), Denver True Value and Denver Bicycle Company, will host a bike festival watch party for the installation of Denver's penultimate iconic station arch at Monaco Street. This will be the 27th & 28th of 32 total installations along the corridor and is the third arch lift in the Mayfair District on East Colfax. There remains only one more arch lift event in Denver (Uinta), later this summer.

To highlight the BRT's multimodal amenities, this arch lift will showcase BRT bike rack features. Denver Bicycle Company will offer free bike tire air checks. Representatives from BRT and Denver Moves: Bikes will attend to discuss multimodal improvements in Denver - particularly BRT-related efforts to increase bike safety.

When: Tonight, Monday, June 22

Event Duration: 7 - 9 p.m.

Arch lift expected: 8- 8:30 p.m.

Where: Denver True Value (6420 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80220)

(Note: Colfax Avenue will be closed between Locust and Magnolia streets in both directions along Colfax Avenue for a crane to occupy the roadway and install the arch. Parking is available on side streets).

Additional Details:

  • Area small businesses will be represented at a vendor table, where attendees can take coupons or visit the featured businesses' websites.
  • Small business vendors for this arch lift include BOXBOX (catering their signature bento box sliders) and Tessa Delicatessen (providing their famous baked desserts).
  • Several bicycle organizations will be in attendance. Some tabling, others participating in the watch party.
  • This event will be a pop-up for the popular Fax Pass (thefaxpass.com) - the public can receive their passport or redeem prizes. Several participating businesses will be open, offering deals and handing out stickers.

Denver's East Colfax BRT project continues to mark progress with the installation of this station arch at Monaco Street. The arches are a key design element for future BRT stops and have already become a prominent feature along the corridor. Only two arches remain to be installed in Denver - the final set of arches to be installed the same night t Uinta Street (later this summer). Two additional arches will be installed at Havana Street in Aurora (August). Small business support is a key element to the project. The East Colfax BRT small business outreach team and Colfax Mayfair BID celebrate this project milestone by promoting and supporting area businesses.
