Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guo Haiyan Holds Briefing for Kenyan Journalists and Scholars

On April 2, Amb. Guo Haiyan held briefing for Kenyan journalists and scholars on the visit to Kenya by Vice President Han Zheng, the full implementation of China's zero tariff treatment to African countries, the annual "Two Sessions" 2026 and the five -point initiative put forward by China and Pakistan for restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East Region. A total of around 30 journalists, editors and scholars attended the briefing.

Amb. Guo noted that China and Kenya have maintained high-level exchanges and political mutual trust and that Vice President Han Zheng's visit to Kenya has vigorously promoted the development of China-Kenya relations. She also noted that China's zero-tariff treatment to Africa will bring important opportunities to China-Africa cooperation and that the annual "Two Sessions" underscores high-quality development, reform and innovation and the people-centered approach, thereby injecting positive energy into global growth. The China-Pakistan five-point initiative is the first systematic policy and propositions put forward by the international community for restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East Region. China welcomes the international community to respond to and participate in the initiative.

The briefing was received warmly by the Kenyan participants. They spoke highly of Vice President Han Zheng's visit to Kenya, the full implementation of China's zero tariff treatment to African countries and the China-Pakistan five point initiative, and expressed hope that China-Kenya relations achieve greater progress in the future.
