The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has recognized UCLA with multiple honors in its global 2026 Circle of Excellence Awards, highlighting the university's standout work in communications, alumni engagement and digital storytelling.
The nonprofit's annual awards recognize excellence in advancement, marketing and communications across higher education institutions worldwide. From 4,185 global entries this year, 493 winners were selected by a panel of 570 volunteer judges.
UCLA alum
UCLA alum was honored with a gold award for UCLA Changemakers: A Story of Co-Creation and Alumni Leadership, recognized for its compelling storytelling around alumni impact in the single-day, in-person event category. Hosted in partnership with Homeboy Industries, the world's largest gang rehabilitation and reentry program, the event titled "Radical Kinship in Action" was designed to deepen alumni engagement through values-driven programming.
The social media series Do You Know UCLA? - lauded for its production quality, fun approach and relevance - also took home gold in the alumni-oriented digital campaigns category.
UCLA College
UCLA College was recognized with a bronze award for UCelebrate Bats This Spooky Season! in the promotional video on a shoestring budget category, a project the judges hailed as "genius" and "truly original." The video was a supplement to a feature story and the College's "Cabinet of Curiosities" podcast that reimagines public opinion about bats.
Also receiving a bronze award was State of Mind in the online magazine category, honored for its innovative editorial content spotlighting the research, ideas, creativity and impact of our community.
