Advisor to the Foreign Minister meets with the Managing Executive Officer and Head of Asia Pacific Division of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)

On 19 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Uchida Katsufumi, Managing Executive Officer and Head of Asia Pacific Division of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

The Advisor emphasized the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a bridge between the public and private sectors in facilitating investment and business operations, while expressing readiness to continue supporting activities that promote business cooperation between Thailand and Japan. Such activities would serve as important platforms for fostering networks and business opportunities between investors from both countries.

Both sides also exchanged views on the prospects of Thailand - Japan economic cooperation, particularly in the automotive and electronics industries, as well as opportunities to expand collaboration in technology and innovation, such as artificial intelligence, data centers, energy, robotics, and biofuels.
