DIRECTV Expands MiEspañol®: More Telemundo, More Cities, More to Love

DIRECTV is bringing Telemundo's upcoming FIFA World Cup, Spanish-language local news, and other key programming to more viewers across the country with a major expansion of the MiEspañol® Genre Pack®. Telemundo affiliates in 82 Markets will be added to DIRECTV's MiEspañol® Genre Pack®, enabling DIRECTV customers in those markets to stream Telemundo content for the first time, and boosting availability of MiEspañol® to approximately 98% of all U.S. Hispanic TV homes.

As a result, MiEspañol will expand Telemundo's availability to approximately 98% of all U.S. Hispanic TV homes, significantly increasing access to the programming audiences know and love, while also offering more choice, flexibility, and enhanced value in Spanish-language content they care to receive.

The rollout

Telemundo affiliates are already being added to MiEspañol® across key cities, including Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, Portland, Charlotte, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and New Orleans (Full list below). And this is just the beginning.

DIRECTV will continue to add approximately 20 new DMAs per week every week through mid-May, about a month ahead of Telemundo's Spanish-language coverage of the FIFA World Cup that begins June 11.

Just in time for the World Cup

DIRECTV customers in all 11 U.S. cities that will host FIFA World Cup matches this summer will be able to stream that and other Telemundo programming when they couldn't before.

As the exclusive Spanish-language home of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, Telemundo will deliver the most comprehensive Spanish-language coverage in U.S. media history, with all 104 matches presented across Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock. The addition of local Telemundo stations on DIRECTV further expands access to this coverage, ensuring subscribers to the MiEspañol Genre Pack can experience the tournament with unmatched reach, cultural relevance, and multiplatform viewing options.

From limited access to nearly nationwide

Beyond the World Cup, Telemundo delivers a robust slate of Spanish-language programming across entertainment, news, and live events, including La Casa de los Famosos, Top Chef VIP, Noticias Telemundo, and cultural tentpoles such as the Billboard Latin Music Awards. With a lineup anchored in live content and culturally relevant storytelling, Telemundo remains a leading destination for U.S. Hispanic audiences year-round.

Before these agreements, Telemundo programming was available to MiEspañol customers in:

• 20 major cities with Telemundo-owned and-operated stations
• 94 metro regions receiving a national Telemundo network feed minus local content

With so many local station affiliates now joining the lineup, the experience becomes more localized, relevant, and widely available.
