ADVISORY - BUTLER COUNTY - Pennsylvania's Secretary of Aging to Highlight How New Oversight Tool is Improving Older Adult Protective Services, Keeping PA Seniors Safe

Pennsylvania Department of Aging Secretary Jason Kavulich will visit the Butler County Area Agency on Aging to highlight how a new tool launched by the Department is improving older adult protective services and leading to improved performance at the more than 50 local aging agencies across Pennsylvania.

The Department recently replaced an old, subjective, pass/fail system that was ineffective in monitoring older adult protective services with a new, more objective and robust system that provides local aging agencies with valuable, step-by-step guidance about how to improve services and better protect older adults.
That new system - the Comprehensive Aging Performance Evaluation (CAPE) - also has resulted in historic levels of transparency and accountability, enabling local elected officials and community members to review the performance of their local aging services agency online.
