Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands Shen Bo Meets Delegation of the Association of Returned Overseas Chinese Macao

On 11 September, H.E. Shen Bo, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, met with a delegation led by Mr. Lao Nga Wong, Chairman of the Association of Returned Overseas Chinese Macao, who was visiting the Netherlands.

Ambassador Shen Bo welcomed the delegation and commended the Association for its longstanding efforts to connect returned overseas Chinese at home and abroad, support overseas Chinese communities, and contribute to the economic and social development of Macao and the Chinese mainland. He encouraged the Association to play a greater role in promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthening ties with overseas Chinese communities, including those in the Netherlands, and fostering exchanges and cooperation between China and the Netherlands as well as between China and Europe. He also expressed hope that the Association would draw on the strengths and resources of overseas Chinese communities to contribute further to China's development.

Mr. Lao Nga Wong briefed on the Association's work and Macao's development achievement. He said that the Association would continue to leverage Macao's unique advantages, showcase the achievements of the successful implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems"  principle, and build stronger platforms for exchanges and cooperation between Macao and overseas Chinese communities in the Netherlands and across Europe, thereby further strengthening ties between the people of Macao and overseas Chinese communities.
