Every girl deserves a future defined by safety, not scars.
Across the globe, over 200 million survivors carry the weight of female genital mutilation, including 600,000 women and girls in Europe.
It's a violation of human rights.
On this International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM, we are making our position clear:
It must end
Everywhere
For good.
The EU is partnering with countries and the United Nations to end this brutal form of abuse.
We won't stop until gender-based violence is history
