Jim Donnelly, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wayne Bank, is excited to announce the promotion of Steve Daniels to Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.
Beginning July 20, 2026, Steve will assume the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, following the recently announced retirement of the Bank's respected Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, Vinny O'Bell.
"Steve has been a dedicated member of Wayne Bank since 2011, and I've had the pleasure of seeing him grow into a strong and trusted leader," said Mr. Donnelly. "His understanding of our customers, commitment to our team, and steady leadership make him well prepared for this transition. I'm confident he will bring the same energy and care to this role as his predecessor Vinny did, and I look forward to what he will accomplish in this next chapter."
This promotion comes as Wayne Bank prepares for the retirement of Vinny O'Bell at the end of October 2026, following a distinguished 47-year career in banking and nearly a decade of leadership at Wayne Bank. Over the coming months, Vinny and Steve will work closely together to ensure a seamless transition and continued success for the organization.
"Steve is well prepared to take on this role," said Mr. O'Bell. "He understands the Bank, our customers, and our communities, and he brings a thoughtful and steady approach to leadership. I have every confidence in his ability to continue building on Wayne Bank's strong foundation."
Steve has held a variety of roles during his tenure, including his current position as Executive Vice President and Chief Consumer Banking Officer, where he is responsible for leading and streamlining the products and services of the Bank's Consumer Banking Division. He holds a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and is a graduate of the PBA Advanced School of Banking and the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Through Stonier, he also completed the Wharton Leadership Program and the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Steve is deeply involved in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for both the Wayne County Community Foundation and NeighborWorks of Northeastern Pennsylvania and is Co-Chair of the United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike Counties. He is also a past president of the Honesdale Area Jaycees. A lifelong resident of Wayne County, he resides in Milanville with his wife, Ali, and their son, Russell.
