Saint Louis University photographer Sarah Conroy has been recognized by the University Photographers' Association of America.
Conroy took home two first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, and an honorable mention in the 2026 Annual Photo Competition for work done as SLU's photographer. She also captured second-place overall in the Photographer of the Year competition, becoming the highest-ranking woman in the contest's history.
Conory won first place in the portrait category for her photo of SLU President Edward Feser, Ph.D. She also won first in the News and College Life category for her drone photo of Christmas on the quad. She also earned second place in the same category for an image captured during Feser's inauguration.
Her other second-place honor came from a photo of chess Grandmaster Aryan Chopra in the general features category. She received an honorable mention in the publications category for her work on the Universitas cover.
The University Photographers' Association of America holds monthly photo contests throughout the year. Photographers earn points towards an overall title. Conroy placed 22 times throughout the year, earning second place overall among university photographers.
