Temporary Closure Planned on East Martin Street

Raleigh Water crews will be working on the 0 block of East Martin Street in downtown Raleigh as part of the City's ongoing Capital Improvement Program, which strengthens and modernizes Raleigh's water infrastructure to keep service safe and reliable for everyone.

The closure will affect East Martin Street between Fayetteville Street and South Wilmington Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, and Friday, Feb. 6.

Water service interruptions are not expected, and crews will work to complete the project safely and efficiently.

During the closure, drivers will be detoured around the work zone. Please follow all posted traffic signs and allow extra travel time.

Detour information:

  • Traffic traveling east on East Martin Street will turn right onto South Salisbury Street, left onto West Davie Street, left onto Wilmington Street, then right onto East Martin Street.
  • Traffic traveling west on East Martin Street will turn right onto Wilmington Street, left onto East Hargett Street, left onto Salisbury Street, then right onto East Martin Street.
