A Look Back at the 2025 State of the City

Fort Lauderdale came together on Monday, September 29, 2025, for the annual State of the City Address, where Mayor Dean Trantalis shared updates on how our city is building a bolder, brighter Fort Lauderdale.

The evening brought neighbors, community leaders, and Team FTL under one roof to reflect on progress in Fort Lauderdale during the last fiscal year and look ahead at what's to come in the next fiscal year.

Highlights from the Address

During his remarks, the Mayor outlined the major steps Fort Lauderdale is taking to make our city safe, livable, and welcoming:

️ $1.6B stormwater upgrades protecting neighborhoods from flooding
️ New water treatment plant opening next year
️ Downtown investment topping $10B with 50+ new restaurants
️ Safer streets, upgraded police tools, and a new PD HQ
️ Transformations along our beachfront, from Las Olas Marina to Bahia Mar
️ Investments in parks, trees, and cleaner waterways

Together, they represent the City's commitment to strengthening neighborhoods, supporting growth, and keeping Fort Lauderdale a place people are proud to call home.
