Day 40 of the Schumer-Gallego-Kelly Shutdown

Today marks the 40^thday of the Democrat government shutdown. Once again, the Democrats including Arizona Democrat Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly,had 14 opportunities to join with Republicans to keep the government open, and each and every time the Democrats voted NO! Every day that Democrats refuse to pass the clean CR, the services that Americans rely on are put at risk.

Incidentally, if you're shocked that Democrats won elections in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia earlier this week, I have an ocean to sell you in Arizona. These weren't surprise victories-they were predictable outcomes in deep-blue states.

In New Jersey, Democrats were leading by double digits days before Election Day. Five of the last six governors have been Democrats. In Virginia, the governor's race was never close, with polls showing an 11-point Democrat lead. And let's not forget, Senator Chuck Schumer engineered a record-breaking federal government shutdown to boost turnout from angry furloughed federal workers in the Democrat-heavy suburbs of Northern Virginia. Even in New York City, the socialist Democrat candidate for mayor underperformed expectations, winning by far less than predicted.

Democrats and their media allies are now spinning these routine wins as an unexpected "blue wave" to justify their continued refusal to reopen the government. Don't buy it. Every Democrat strategist knew they'd win these states-the only shock would've been if they hadn't.

The Schumer Shutdown has nothing to do with COVID-era health policies.The pandemic ended more than two years ago, and Democrats themselves voted to make the temporary Obamacare expansions expire this December. Now they're demanding those same pandemic credits be made permanent-or they'll keep the government closed.

The truth is,this shutdown is a calculated political stunt to stall President Trump and Republican momentum. As Americans grow tired of inflation, open borders, and reckless spending, Republicans are gaining ground with real solutions-restoring fiscal responsibility, securing the border, cutting taxes, and strengthening public safety. A prolonged shutdown conveniently freezes that progress.

By dragging it out, Democrats hope to shift blame, hide their failed record, and distract from the economic, immigration, and public safety crises they created. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are paying the price: 42 million SNAP recipients missed benefits, two million workers missed paychecks, and tens of thousands of flights have been canceled (more on that below).

This isn't leadership-it's political gamesmanship at the expense of the American people.It's time to end the Schumer Shutdown and let Congress get back to work for the nation.

Democrats' Shutdown Disrupts Holiday Travel

As I mentioned would happen a few weeks ago, hundreds of thousands of travelers began receiving cancellation notices this week as the Federal Aviation Administration has been forced to reduceflight capacity by 10% at 40 major airports because of the Democrats' government shutdown. The cuts were prompted by staffing shortages, as air traffic controllers and TSA agents haven't been paid for six weeks. Despite concerns from almost every corner of the airline industry, Democrats continue to force TSA Agents and Air Traffic Controllers to work without pay. Of course, this adds unnecessary stress to an already stressful job, which results in staffing shortages that lead to delays and cancellations. The reductions could affect over 268,000 passengers on roughly 1,800 domestic flights daily,including travelers flying in and out of Phoenix. The bottom line is that the Democrats' shutdown is causing unnecessary delays to air travel, stranding millions of passengers nationwide and ruining Americans' holiday travel plans because scoring political points matters more than real people. ✈

October Border Crossings Were the Lowest EVER

New data released this week from the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shows that President Trump's promise to secure the border continues to deliver results. October 2025 marked the lowest number of illegal border crossings in CBP history.

Officials note that for the sixth consecutive month, U.S. Border Patrol released zero illegal aliens into the United States. Every individual apprehended was processed according to law - a milestone unmatched in modern border history.

For greater perspective, since President Trump took office in January 2025, agents have apprehended a total of 106,134 illegal aliens. This is less than the single-month average of the Biden-era border crisis, when agents encountered an average of 155,485 illegal aliens per month.

President Trump's leadership and a no-excuses enforcement strategy are restoring control and deterring illegal border crossings.

700K Ineligible SNAP Recipients Purged After USDA Uncovers Widespread Fraud

Here's something you probably didn't hear about this week from the Fake News: The U.S. Department of Agriculture exposed massive fraud, removing 700,000 individuals from food stamps, including illegal migrants and deceased people following an audit by DOGE of state data. Only 29 states cooperated in the audit, leading to 118 arrests.

The audit findings note that SNAP spending surged nearly 40% when Joe Bidenwas asleep in the White House, oneindividual claimed SNAP benefits in six states, 5,000 deceased recipients were still receiving aidand perhaps the most egregious findings were thousands of ineligible illegalaliensused EBT cards to receive SNAP benefits. SNAP benefits should be for vulnerable Americans, not illegals who abuse the system and drain public resources.
