The School of the Environment invites individual students or student teams, working with faculty mentors, to apply for a School of the Environment Director Award. The award offers up to $5,000 to perform an environment-related project with a community partner.

Students from any major may apply as long as they are part of a team that contains at least on student enrolled in a School of the Environment program.

Students who apply as individuals must be enrolled in a School of the Environment program (i.e. Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geosciences or Master of Environmental Management).

This initiative gives students hands-on experience with funded interdisciplinary research or creative activity in impactful projects for the community.

Faculty are encouraged to alert their students to this opportunity. Proposals are due Oct. 15, 2025.
