At the end of the fall semester, the Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics(IRSA) publishes an official Fact Book, which includes the most current benchmark data available about the University of Miami. Available to the general public, the interactive dashboard contains data such as student admission and enrollment details, as well as faculty and staff member headcount. The Fact Book format allows for a more dynamic exploration of University information through filters and views of historical data and trends.

Access the Fact Finder

Additionally, the latest information about the University is conveniently packaged into a Fact Finder document, which contains additional data points about other areas of the University. The more easily digested Fact Finder PDF is available on the UMiami appor at miami.edu/facts.

Explore IRSA's renovated benchmark dashboard

University faculty and staff members can explore the new benchmark dashboard, now featuring the ability to group and filter by a variety of dimensions. The benchmark process at the University is a foundational component of institutional reporting and strategic analytics, engaging a process involving systematically capturing snapshots of key student data tables twice each semester. These snapshots, known as benchmark and end-of-term, serve as the official source for compliance reporting to state and federal agencies, accreditation bodies, and external surveys such as IPEDS, U.S. News & World Report, QS World University Rankings, and others.

About the team

The Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics serves as the clearinghouse of student data, official University statistics, and strategic analytics for institutional decision-making and official external reporting. The team advocates for institutional data literacy-or the ability to understand what data to use and when to use it-by working collaboratively with University staff and faculty members to provide an objective, consistent, transparent, and holistic view of the data.

Launched in 2023, the Data and Analytics Hubis a one-stop source for data, analytics, and reports that support data-driven decision-making. This interactive site is available only to University faculty and staff members and serves as the University's centralized data and analytics repository, where individuals can access various institutional data, reports, and information supporting data citizens-or anyone who defines, produces, or consumes University of Miami data. Additionally, the Data and Analytics Hub empowers strategic analytics and supports University policy development and improvement.

Through the interactive Data and Analytics Hub, the University community can leverage easy-to-use features, including quick start guides, forms, and troubleshooting capabilities to improve their confidence when interacting with and caring for University data.
